Of course New Jersey is no stranger to severe weather conditions like storms and Nor’easters. Most homeowners have learned to cope by adopting preventive measures as they have seen the damage these storms can cause.
As always, a resilient roof is your first line of defense. With the hurricane season around, we are reminding those who are rather less-prepared to check for old and faulty roofing as this poses danger to their household. More than ever, now is the best time to put things in order. Now is the time, before more news like this appears. As reported by 7online.com:
Strong storms moved through the area Tuesday night, downing trees and power lines and leaving tens of thousands of people without power.
New Jersey was the hardest hit, with more than 40,000 outages reported at its peak.
A scaffold also collapsed during the high winds on Manhattan’s Upper West Side at 62nd Street and West End Avenue. Several cars were also crushed by falling trees in Washington Heights and West Orange.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
