Your Roofing System Should Stand Up to ‘Ice Cold’ Summers

Winter is still several months away but we are talking “cold” in summer because of this recent incident that transpired in New Jersey, as reported by nj.com:

When Darren Boch arrived at Ocean Grove’s sandy shore this week, he was surprised to see virtually no one in the water.

That is, until he stepped in.

“I thought, you’ve got to be kidding. It was ice cold,” Boch, a Parsippany resident, said. “I’ve never experienced water that cold at the shore in the summer … We tried, but even my brave son didn’t last very long with just his feet in (the water). It was more like the polar bear plunge.”

After hovering near 70 degrees for the last several weeks, water temperatures in many parts of the Jersey Shore plummeted to the lower 50s in recent days. A brisk south wind allowed cold water from the ocean floor to be churned to the surface this week, officials said, resulting in previously pleasant conditions turning unbearable for most.

Indeed, summer and a freezing beach in New Jersey is a very unlikely happenstance. Now even before the biting wind reaches your area, you have to make sure that your family is protected.  One of the most important functions of your roofing system – through its insulation features, is to keep your family comfortably warm during the cold times. This is why a faulty roof with leaks, holes or cracks is simply not serving its purpose.  Of course, you can always count on your heater, but it will be hard for the device to cope up and that will consequently reflect on your electricity cost.

That is why it is important that you regularly check the condition of your roofing in NJ. Call Up and Above Contractors, LLC and ask for their free inspection and assessment service to check if your roof has incurred damages from previous storms and other harsh elements of nature.

We maintain that a properly functioning roof is all it takes to provide great insulation for your home. Apart from that, we commit to addressing all your concerns for roofing in Hopatcong NJ. We will make sure that your roof is designed to stand up to environmental conditions of areas in New Jersey
